The Story of the Saint

Saint Pishoy and the Spirit of Hospitality

This beautiful icon captures a profound event from the life of Saint Pishoy (Anba Bishoy), the "Beloved of our Good Savior."

• The Act of Service: Known for his extreme hospitality to strangers, Saint Pishoy welcomed a weary, poor traveler into his cell and insisted on washing his feet. While doing so, he noticed the nail prints in the stranger's feet and realized he was washing the feet of Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

• The Background Monasteries: In the background, the traditional desert monasteries are visible, representing his legacy as a foundational Desert Father and the enduring presence of his monastery in Wadi El Natrun, Egypt.
