About the Saints

The Story of Saint Menas and Pope Cyril VI

This unique icon beautifully bridges centuries of Coptic history, depicting the deep spiritual bond between the 3rd-century soldier-martyr Saint Menas (Mina) the Wonderworker, standing with his traditional camels, and the modern 116th Pope of Alexandria, Pope Cyril VI. Known for his profound humility, tireless prayer life, and deep love for Saint Menas, Pope Cyril famously revived the ancient monastery of Mariout in his honor. Together against a radiant gold background, they stand as a powerful testament to enduring faith, heavenly friendship, and miraculous intervention.
